Interim report from the Palliative Care Commission published

Volume 1 of the Commission’s Report, ‘Palliative Care and End-of-Life Care: Opportunities for England’ was launched in Parliament on Tuesday 13th May. The Commission on Palliative and End-of-Life Care seeks to identify the current strengths and significant shortfalls in provision and the barriers that exist in the current systems of such care. It also looks at the relationship between specialist palliative care services and generalist services. Professor Irene Higginson was invited to become a commissioner and attended hearings and contributed to the work of the Commission alongside others.
